What this page is

A plain-language summary of what you are buying. The full End User License Agreement governs your use of the software, and where this page and that agreement differ, the agreement governs.

What you are buying

An annual subscription that issues you a perpetual license key for Awake, valid for use on up to 3 Macs you personally use. Ownership is not the test — a work Mac counts if you are the one using it; a Mac you own but somebody else uses does not.

Perpetual means what it says: the key never expires and the version you have keeps working forever, offline, whether or not you renew. Renewing entitles you to the releases published during your paid year.

Seat counts are on the honor system. The software does not enforce them and does not contact this site to check.

Billing

Subscriptions are annual and are billed by Square or PayPal, whichever you chose. Manage or cancel yours in that account at any time.

Cancelling stops future charges and therefore future keys. It does not disable anything you already have.

Launch pricing, where offered, covers your first year. The subscription then renews at the standard price — currently $19.99/yr — every year after that. Both figures are shown before you pay and are part of what you agree to at checkout, so the renewal is not a change to your subscription and needs nothing from you.

Refunds

Please use the free 15-day trial first. Every feature is enabled, no account is needed, and it exists precisely so you can decide before paying anything.

If you buy and it still is not right for you, write to awake.support@flaming.ws within 15 days of your purchase and I will refund that charge in full. Between the trial and that window, that is 30 days to make up your mind.

After 15 days from purchase I do not offer refunds, because by then the trial and the refund window have both run.

A refund cancels the charge, not your key. The license already delivered to you keeps working: the software never checks in with this site, so it goes on verifying offline. Refunds are handled on trust accordingly.

Fair use of a license

Do not publish, resell or share your key. It carries your name and email address, and a key found in circulation is traceable back to the purchase it came from.

Keys found published may be denied future renewals, and the license agreement sets out when a license may be terminated for a serious, uncured breach.

Warranty and liability

The software is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. It is a small utility written by one person and it may have bugs.

To the fullest extent the law allows, liability for any claim arising from the software is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot lawfully be limited.

Support is by email at awake.support@flaming.ws, offered in good faith and answered by a human, usually me.

Changes to these terms

I may change any part of these terms at any time — including the price, what a subscription includes, the refund policy, the seat count, and how and where the store is operated. Nothing on this page is fixed for all time.

Each version is published with a version number, an effective date and a SHA-256 hash, and earlier versions stay available. Written by Dean Flaming.
